Ooh fwiend!

By FLsm 21 Jun 2019

When you fly off to uni you may have gone to another city and staying in touch with friends from back home can be difficult when you get caught up with uni life. When you get back home and start to get back into a routine living with parents and watching the soaps every night, it may get too much, so it’s a good idea to reconnect with old friends and have the best summer!

Pop down the local!

Reach out to your friends. Whether you create a Facebook or Whatsapp group, get everyone rounded up when you’re all back home so you can have a good old catch up and chill out. De-stress after exams and start planning a fun summer.

Plan a road trip

Make some new memories this summer and plan a roadtrip with your old besties. Go off and see some sights, do a festival or just set off for new horizons.

Walk and Talk

Even if you don’t have much money right now, plan a stroll and a catch up. Fresh air, scenery and good company can do a world of good and help you to strengthen bonds... when you’re not distracted by a phone.

Gym Buddies

If you have a fitness goal this summer and you’re dedicated to working out more, get fit with a friend. This will not only keep you on track but means you’ll be regularly seeing each other and building up your relationship again.

Make it work

Meaningful relationships always need working at and it’s important everyone equally puts the effort into a friendship to keep it going. Reaching out to friends and family will also help to combat loneliness and feelings of anxiety and negative thoughts when you’re surrounded by people that lift you up. Keeping in touch with your uni friends and flat family over the summer is also really important to keep your network strong.
